US airmail envelope, mailed from Houston 1 June 1969

This sub-collection contains postage stamps and entireties (consignments with stuck stamps and cancellation marks that passed through postal network) from European and non-European countries, most of them originated locally or in countries of the Austrian monarchy after mid-19th century. Most donations came during the 1980s, with some of the materials being at a world-class level.

Some of the donated materials date back to the pre-stamp era (e.g. a significant collection of Prague-based post offices' cancellation marks on period correspondence donated by Karel Všetečka's family. A collection of stamps of Russian gubernian parliaments, donated by Leonid Lada-Jakusevic, or a set of sketches and proofs created in engravers Karel Seizinger and Bohumil Heinz's studios and donated by the Hefer-Nepevný family, are among the highlights. Materials from the estate of music composer Miloslav Kabeláč are also much valued, as is a copy of the newspaper Pražský prostonárodní list with a blue Mercury. More recent acquisitions include an aerophilatelic collection donated by Tomáš Vosolsobě, with philatelic documents of first and special US flights.
