From June 3, 2026 – Landscape Painter Josef Navrátil and Vávra's Mill

Vávra House served as the residence of Prague millers until the end of the 19th century. Preserved here is the unique decoration by landscape painter Josef Navrátil from 1847.

The first floor of Vávra House is presented as a reconstruction of a bourgeois interior from the first half of the 19th century. The visitor experience is enhanced by wall oil paintings by Josef Navrátil from 1847. Their author, among other things, contributed to the decoration of Prague Castle and the imperial summer residences in Ploskovice and Zákupy.

The originally Renaissance building acquired its Baroque appearance in 1678, with further minor modifications carried out in 1805 and 1899. Today, the protected monument is one of the few remnants of the original development in the Petrská quarter. Since 1988, the Postal Museum has been housed here, which is now part of the National Technical Museum.
